Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander resident population in City of Darebin in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Total employed persons aged 15+ (611 people or 100.0%)
- Professionals (175 people or 28.6%)
- Community and Personal Service Workers (108 people or 17.7%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 894 people in total or 146.3% of the employed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander resident population.
The major differences between the occupations held by the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population of the City of Darebin and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander of Greater Melbourne were:
- A larger percentage of people employed as Professionals (28.6% compared to 18.5%)
- A larger percentage of people employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (17.7% compared to 14.7%)
