Dominant groups
The size of the City of Banyule's non-English speaking labour force in 2021 was 14,703 persons, of which 4,780 were employed part-time and 8,307 were full time workers.
Analysis of the employment status (as a percentage of the labour force) of non-English speakers in the City of Banyule in 2021 compared to the total population in the City of Banyule shows that there was a lower proportion in employment, and a higher proportion unemployed. Overall, 94.5% of the non-English speaking labour force was employed, and 3.0% unemployed, compared with 95.7% and 2.0% respectively for the total population in the City of Banyule.
Analysis of the non-English speaking labour force participation rate of the population in the City of Banyule in 2021 shows that there was a similar proportion in the labour force (63.9%) compared with the total population in the City of Banyule (64.3%).
Emerging groups
Between 2016 and 2021, the number of non-English speaking population employed in the City of Banyule showed an increase of 1,359 people and the number unemployed showed a decrease of 79 people. In the same period, the number of people in the labour force showed an increase of 1,100 people, or 8.1%.
