Dominant groups

Analysis of the non-English speaking population in the City of Banyule in 2021 compared to the total population in the City of Banyule shows that there was a lower proportion of people in the younger age groups (under 15) as well as a lower proportion of people in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 16.4% of the non-English speaking population was aged between 0 and 14, and 18.0% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 17.8% and 18.8% respectively for the total population in the City of Banyule.

The major differences between the age groups of the non-English speaking population in the City of Banyule and the total population in the City of Banyule were:

  • A larger percentage of people aged 35 to 39 (10.2% compared to 7.3%)
