Overall, 11.5% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 11.7% were one-parent families, compared with 23.3% and 10.7% respectively for Ballina Shire.
There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 41.7% compared to 26.6% in Ballina Shire while the proportion of couples without children was 22.3% compared to 29.3% in Ballina Shire.
