Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Yarra Ranges Council in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (8,823 females or 22.8%)
  • Education and Training (5,638 females or 14.6%)
  • Retail Trade (4,274 females or 11.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 18,735 females in total or 48.4% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Yarra Junction - Wesburn - Millgrove employed 24.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.9% in Education and Training; and 10.8% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Yarra Ranges Council and Yarra Junction - Wesburn - Millgrove were:
