Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Yarra Ranges Council in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (11,929 people or 14.9%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (10,498 people or 13.1%)
  • Education and Training (7,598 people or 9.5%)

In combination, these three industries employed 30,025 people in total or 37.6% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Greater Melbourne employed 9.3% in Construction; 13.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 8.8% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Yarra Ranges Council and Greater Melbourne were:
