Dominant groups

Analysis of the language used at home by the population of the Cities of Albury and Wodonga in 2021 compared to the City of Wodonga shows that there was a smaller proportion of people who used English only, and a larger proportion of those using a non-English language (either exclusively, or in addition to English).

Overall, 86.8% of the population used English only, and 7.9% used a non-English language, compared with 88.1% and 6.9% respectively for the City of Wodonga.

The dominant language used at home, other than English, in the Cities of Albury and Wodonga was Nepali, with 1.0% of the population, or 1,010 people using this language at home.

There were no major differences between Cities of Albury and Wodonga and City of Wodonga in 2021.
