Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Taralga and District in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (265 people or 28.8%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (116 people or 12.6%)
  • Education and Training (69 people or 7.5%)

In combination, these three industries employed 450 people in total or 48.9% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Upper Lachlan Shire employed 24.3% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; 11.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 7.4% in Education and Training.
