Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Taralga and District in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (265 people or 28.8%)
- Health Care and Social Assistance (116 people or 12.6%)
- Education and Training (69 people or 7.5%)
In combination, these three industries employed 450 people in total or 48.9% of the total employed resident population.
In comparison, Upper Lachlan Shire employed 24.3% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; 11.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 7.4% in Education and Training.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Taralga and District and Upper Lachlan Shire were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (28.8% compared to 24.3%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed in accommodation and food services (5.5% compared to 3.9%)
