In 2021, there were 3,836 females who caught public transport to work (train, bus, tram or ferry) in Georges River Council area, compared with 9,608 who drove in private vehicles (car – as driver, car – as passenger, motorbike, or truck).
Analysis of the method of travel to work of the female residents in Georges River Council area in 2021, compared to SSROC region, shows that 11.2% used public transport, while 28.0% used a private vehicle, compared with 7.7% and 25.2% respectively in SSROC region.
The major differences in females between the method of travel to work of Georges River Council area and SSROC region were:
- A larger percentage of females who travelled by train (10.1% compared to 5.5%)
- A larger percentage of females who did not go to work (16.9% compared to 15.0%)
- A larger percentage of females who travelled by car (as driver) (24.1% compared to 22.2%)
- A smaller percentage of females who worked at home (39.7% compared to 46.6%)
