Analysis of individual income levels in SSROC region in 2021 compared to Sutherland Shire shows that there was a lower proportion of people earning a high income (those earning $2,000 per week or more) and a higher proportion of low income people (those earning less than $500 per week).
Overall, 18.3% of the population earned a high income, and 28.6% earned a low income, compared with 19.1% and 27.0% respectively for Sutherland Shire.
The major differences between SSROC region's individual incomes and Sutherland Shire's individual incomes were:
- A larger percentage of persons who earned Negative Income/ Nil income (9.7% compared to 8.1%)
- A smaller percentage of persons who earned $2,000 - $2,999 (9.8% compared to 11.0%)
- A smaller percentage of persons who earned $1 - $149 (2.6% compared to 3.4%)
- A smaller percentage of persons who earned $1,500 - $1,749 (6.2% compared to 7.1%)
