Analysis of the share of the male population attending educational institutions in the City of Sydney in 2021 compared to Sutherland Shire shows that there was a lower proportion attending primary school, a lower proportion attending secondary school, and a higher proportion engaged in tertiary level education.
Overall, 2.6% of the male population were attending primary school, 1.8% of the male population were attending secondary institutions, and 13.1% were learning at a tertiary level, compared with 8.9%, 7.3% and 6.2% respectively for Sutherland Shire.
The major differences between the share of the male population attending learning institutions in the City of Sydney and Sutherland Shire were:
- A larger percentage of males attending University (9.8% compared to 3.5%)
- A smaller percentage of males attending a primary school (any type) (2.6% compared to 8.9%)
- A smaller percentage of males attending a secondary school (any type) (1.8% compared to 7.3%)
- A smaller percentage of males attending a Government primary school (1.8% compared to 6.4%)
