Analysis of the number of bedrooms in dwellings in SSROC region in 2021 compared to the City of Canterbury Bankstown shows that there was a higher proportion of dwellings with 2 bedrooms or less, and a lower proportion of dwellings with 4 or more bedrooms.
Overall, 47.2% of households were in dwellings with 2 bedrooms or less, and 20.6% of 4 or more bedroom dwellings, compared with 33.9% and 27.0% for the City of Canterbury Bankstown respectively.
The major differences between the number of bedrooms per dwelling of SSROC region and the City of Canterbury Bankstown were:
- A larger percentage of dwellings with 1 or no bedrooms (includes bedsitters) (13.4% compared to 5.7%)
- A larger percentage of 2 bedroom dwellings (33.8% compared to 28.2%)
- A smaller percentage of 3 bedroom dwellings (26.9% compared to 32.1%)
- A smaller percentage of 4 bedroom dwellings (14.7% compared to 19.7%)
