Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Lake Illawarra in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Technicians and Trades Workers (182 males or 28.4%)
  • Labourers (111 males or 17.3%)
  • Machinery Operators And Drivers (97 males or 15.1%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 390 males in total or 60.8% of the employed male resident population.

In comparison, Warilla employed 29.2% in Technicians and Trades Workers; 16.8% in Labourers; and 16.6% in Machinery Operators And Drivers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Lake Illawarra and Warilla were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed as Professionals (10.1% compared to 8.0%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed as Managers (8.6% compared to 7.4%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed as Machinery Operators And Drivers (15.1% compared to 16.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed as Clerical and Administrative Workers (5.0% compared to 6.1%)

Emerging groups

The number of employed males in Lake Illawarra increased by 16 between 2016 and 2021.

There were no major differences in Lake Illawarra between 2016 and 2021.
