Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Shell Cove in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (323 males or 16.8%)
  • Manufacturing (230 males or 12.0%)
  • Public Administration and Safety (162 males or 8.5%)

In combination, these three industries employed 715 males in total or 37.3% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Shellharbour City employed 20.9% in Construction; 10.9% in Manufacturing; and 7.3% in Public Administration and Safety.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Shell Cove and Shellharbour City were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in professional, scientific and technical services (6.6% compared to 4.1%)
