Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in RDA Murraylands and Riverland region in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Community and Personal Service Workers (3,004 females or 21.0%)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (2,397 females or 16.8%)
  • Labourers (2,253 females or 15.8%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 7,654 females in total or 53.6% of the employed female resident population.

In comparison, the Coorong District Council area employed 18.6% in Community and Personal Service Workers; 16.5% in Clerical and Administrative Workers; and 15.2% in Labourers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of the RDA Murraylands and Riverland region and the Coorong District Council area were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (21.0% compared to 18.6%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed as Professionals (15.0% compared to 13.5%)
