Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in the RDA Murraylands and Riverland region in 2021 compared to Regional SA shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 20.5% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 9.8% were one-parent families, compared with 21.2% and 9.0% respectively for Regional SA.

There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 29.3% compared to 28.7% in Regional SA while the proportion of couples without children was 29.1% compared to 29.8% in Regional SA.
