Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Ballan in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (198 people or 16.1%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (158 people or 12.8%)
  • Public Administration and Safety (136 people or 11.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 492 people in total or 39.9% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Rural West employed 14.1% in Construction; 12.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 6.7% in Public Administration and Safety.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Ballan and Rural West were:
