Analysis of the qualifications of people in low income households in the MidCoast Council in 2021 compared to Regional NSW shows that there was a higher proportion of people in low income households holding formal qualifications (Bachelor or higher degree; Advanced Diploma or Diploma; or Vocational qualifications), and a lower proportion with no formal qualifications.
Overall, 38.3% of people in low income households aged 15 and over held educational qualifications, and 54.0% had no qualifications, compared with 36.7% and 56.7% respectively for Regional NSW.
The major differences between the qualifications held by people in low income households in MidCoast Council area and Regional NSW are:
