In 2021, 4.6% of children aged 0 to 4 years in the MidCoast Council spoke a language other than English at home.

Dominant groups

Analysis of the language spoken at home by children aged 0 to 4 years in the MidCoast Council in 2021 compared to the total population in the MidCoast Council shows that there was a smaller proportion of people who spoke English only, and a larger proportion of those speaking a non-English language (either exclusively, or in addition to English).

Overall, 88.1% of children aged 0 to 4 years spoke English only, and 4.6% of% spoke a non-English language, compared with 89.9% and 3.2% respectively for the total population in the MidCoast Council.
