Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in the City of Marion in 2021 compared to Hallett Cove shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a similar proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 27.5% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 10.7% were one-parent families, compared with 35.6% and 10.3% respectively for Hallett Cove.

There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 28.4% compared to 17.7% in Hallett Cove while the proportion of couples without children was 25.5% compared to 33.0% in Hallett Cove.
