Dominant groups
Analysis of the household/family types in Templestowe in 2021 compared to the City of Whitehorse shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 41.9% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 8.9% were one-parent families, compared with 33.1% and 9.7% respectively for the City of Whitehorse.
There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 16.3% compared to 24.4% in the City of Whitehorse while the proportion of couples without children was 28.3% compared to 23.8% in the City of Whitehorse.
