Templestowe (High Density) is located in three sections, being the south eastern-most, southern-most and western-most parts of the suburb of Templestowe. The south-eastern section is bounded by Heidelberg-Warrandyte Road in the north, Blackburn Road in the east, King Street in the south, and Tuckers Road, Serpells Road, Bali Hi Boulevard, Smiths Road, Tiffany Grove, Smiths Road, Porter Street and Newmans Road in the west. The southern section is bounded by Glen Court, Lawanna Drive, The Grange and Samantha Court in the north, Rebecca Close, Donhaven Court and Noral Court in the east, King Street, Victoria Street and Ruffey Creek in the south, and Ruffey Creek in the west. The western section is bounded by Porter Street, Fitzsimons Lane, Blue Cross Retirement Village, Templestowe Reserve and Porter Street in the north, Church Road and Reynolds Road in the east, Jacobena Place, Mandella Street, Pinewood Drive, Brads Way, Serpells Road, Colonsay Street and Saville Court in the south, and Ruffey Creek and the Yarra River in the west.

Settlement history

Settlement of the area dates from the mid 1800s, with land used mainly for orcharding. Substantial development took place during the 1970s and 1980s. The population increased slightly during the 1990s, then was relatively stable between 2001 and 2011, a result of some new dwellings being added to the area, but a decline in the average number of persons living in each dwelling.
