Dominant groups
Analysis of the need for assistance of males in Manningham City Council compared to Westerfolds Ward shows that there was a lower proportion of males who reported needing assistance with core activities.
Overall, 3.1% of the male population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 5.8% for Westerfolds Ward.
The major differences in the male age groups reporting a need for assistance in Yarra Ward and Westerfolds Ward were:

- A smaller percentage of males aged 80 to 84 (17.6% compared to 25.8%)
- A smaller percentage of males aged 75 to 79 (10.4% compared to 13.1%)
