Analysis of the car ownership of the households in Mount Macedon in 2021 compared to Macedon Ranges Shire shows that 91.1% of the households owned at least one car, while 2.2% did not, compared with 93.1% and 2.1% respectively in Macedon Ranges Shire.
Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a smaller proportion who owned just one car; a larger proportion who owned two cars; and a smaller proportion who owned three cars or more.
Overall, 20.3% of the households owned one car; 45.6% owned two cars; and 25.2% owned three cars or more, compared with 23.6%; 40.4% and 29.1% respectively for Macedon Ranges Shire.
