Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Waverley in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (69 males or 20.8%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (38 males or 11.4%)
  • Retail Trade (36 males or 10.8%)

In combination, these three industries employed 143 males in total or 43.1% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Newstead employed 12.5% in Construction; 4.5% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing; and 8.6% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Waverley and Newstead were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in construction (20.8% compared to 12.5%)
