Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Parkdale in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (889 people or 13.5%)
  • Education and Training (745 people or 11.3%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (664 people or 10.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 2,298 people in total or 34.9% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, the City of Kingston employed 13.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 9.5% in Education and Training; and 9.1% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.
