Dominant groups

Analysis of the car ownership of people born overseas in the Inner West Council in 2021 compared to the total population in the Inner West Council shows that 82.3% of people born overseas were in households that owned at least one car, while 16.5% did not, compared with 84.9% and 11.4% respectively in the total population in the Inner West Council.

Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a larger proportion that owned just one car; a smaller proportion owned two cars; and a smaller proportion that owned three cars or more.

Overall, 50.1% of people born overseas were in households that owned one car; 24.2% owned two cars; and 8.0% owned three cars or more, compared with 46.4%; 28.8% and 9.6% respectively for the total population in the Inner West Council.
