Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in City of Darebin in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (15,228 females or 38.3%)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (6,451 females or 16.2%)
  • Community and Personal Service Workers (5,265 females or 13.3%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 26,944 females in total or 67.8% of the employed female resident population.

In comparison, Greater Melbourne employed 30.4% in Professionals; 19.1% in Clerical and Administrative Workers; and 15.4% in Community and Personal Service Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of the City of Darebin and Greater Melbourne were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed as Professionals (38.3% compared to 30.4%)
