Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Rural Bendigo in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,373 females or 27.4%)
  • Education and Training (609 females or 12.1%)
  • Retail Trade (545 females or 10.9%)

In combination, these three industries employed 2,527 females in total or 50.4% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, the City of Greater Bendigo employed 30.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.5% in Education and Training; and 11.3% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Rural Bendigo and the City of Greater Bendigo were:
