Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in the City of Greater Bendigo in 2021 compared to Regional VIC shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 26.0% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 11.6% were one-parent families, compared with 24.6% and 10.1% respectively for Regional VIC.

There were a similar proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 27.3% compared to 27.5% in Regional VIC while the proportion of couples without children was 25.9% compared to 28.0% in Regional VIC.
