Analysis of car ownership in 2021, indicates 57% of households in the City of Greater Bendigo had access to two or more motor vehicles, compared to 57% in Regional VIC.

The ability of the population to access services and employment is strongly influenced by access to transport. Dominant groups

Analysis of the car ownership of the households in the City of Greater Bendigo in 2021 compared to Regional VIC shows that 89.8% of the households owned at least one car, while 4.8% did not, compared with 89.2% and 4.6% respectively in Regional VIC.

Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a larger proportion who owned just one car; a similar proportion who owned two cars; and a similar proportion who owned three cars or more.

Overall, 32.7% of the households owned one car; 36.3% owned two cars; and 20.8% owned three cars or more, compared with 32.0%; 35.9% and 21.3% respectively for Regional VIC.
