Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Urban Bendigo in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Construction (3,619 males or 15.9%)
- Manufacturing (2,816 males or 12.4%)
- Retail Trade (1,976 males or 8.7%)
In combination, these three industries employed 8,411 males in total or 36.9% of the total employed male resident population.
In comparison, Golden Square employed 15.9% in Construction; 12.6% in Manufacturing; and 9.3% in Retail Trade.
The major difference between the jobs held by the male population of Urban Bendigo and Golden Square was:
- A larger percentage of males employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (2.4% compared to 1.4%)
Emerging groups
The number of employed males in Urban Bendigo increased by 3,192 between 2016 and 2021.
The largest changes in the jobs held by the male resident population between 2016 and 2021 in Urban Bendigo were for those employed in:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (+501 males)
- Construction (+458 males)
- Manufacturing (+375 males)
- Mining (+282 males)
