Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Golden Square in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (336 males or 15.9%)
  • Manufacturing (266 males or 12.6%)
  • Retail Trade (195 males or 9.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 797 males in total or 37.8% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, the City of Greater Bendigo employed 16.5% in Construction; 12.1% in Manufacturing; and 8.4% in Retail Trade.

The major difference between the jobs held by the male population of Golden Square and the City of Greater Bendigo was:

  • A smaller percentage of males employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (1.4% compared to 3.4%)
