Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in City of Ballarat in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (12,096 people or 22.8%)
  • Technicians and Trades Workers (7,328 people or 13.8%)
  • Community and Personal Service Workers (7,300 people or 13.7%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 26,724 people in total or 50.3% of the employed resident population.

In comparison, Mount Clear - Mount Helen employed 26.6% in Professionals; 11.0% in Technicians and Trades Workers; and 13.1% in Community and Personal Service Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of the City of Ballarat and Mount Clear - Mount Helen were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (13.8% compared to 11.0%)
