Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander resident population in City of Ballarat in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Total employed persons aged 15+ (664 people or 100.0%)
- Community and Personal Service Workers (127 people or 19.1%)
- Professionals (101 people or 15.2%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 892 people in total or 134.3% of the employed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander resident population.
The major differences between the occupations held by the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population of the City of Ballarat and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander of Regional VIC were:
- A larger percentage of people employed as Sales Workers (12.2% compared to 9.6%)
- A smaller percentage of people employed as Managers (6.8% compared to 9.0%)
