Analysis of the car ownership of the households in the Shire of Ashburton in 2021 compared to Paraburdoo shows that 79.1% of the households owned at least one car, while 6.4% did not, compared with 84.1% and 3.7% respectively in Paraburdoo.
Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a smaller proportion who owned just one car; a smaller proportion who owned two cars; and a smaller proportion who owned three cars or more.
Overall, 42.8% of the households owned one car; 24.0% owned two cars; and 12.3% owned three cars or more, compared with 43.6%; 24.8% and 15.7% respectively for Paraburdoo.
