This is highly correlated with the age of migrant communities - older communities are likely to have more home ownership. In some areas, public housing is an important tenure type for migrants, even long established communities.

Dominant groups
Analysis of the housing tenure of non-English speakers in the City of Whittlesea in 2021 compared to the total population in the City of Whittlesea shows that there was a larger proportion of non-English speakers in households who owned their dwelling; a larger proportion purchasing their dwelling; and a similar proportion who were renters.
Overall, 23.1% of non-English speakers were in households who owned their dwelling; 49.9% were purchasing, and 24.7% were renting, compared with 22.0%, 48.4% and 24.2% respectively for the total population in the City of Whittlesea.
