Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in City of Whitehorse in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (13,275 males or 31.2%)
  • Managers (7,342 males or 17.2%)
  • Technicians and Trades Workers (6,461 males or 15.2%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 27,078 males in total or 63.6% of the employed male resident population.

In comparison, Greater Melbourne employed 23.6% in Professionals; 16.1% in Managers; and 19.3% in Technicians and Trades Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of the City of Whitehorse and Greater Melbourne were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed as Professionals (31.2% compared to 23.6%)
