More Baldivis residents worked in health care and social assistance than any other industry in 2021.

This will be influenced by the skill base and socio-economic status of the residents as well as the industries and employment opportunities present in the region.

Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Baldivis in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (3,873 people or 13.8%)
  • Retail Trade (2,692 people or 9.6%)
  • Construction (2,528 people or 9.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 9,093 people in total or 32.4% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Western Australia employed 13.6% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 8.8% in Retail Trade; and 8.8% in Construction.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Baldivis and Western Australia were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in public administration and safety (8.1% compared to 5.9%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed in manufacturing (7.1% compared to 5.3%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed in professional, scientific and technical services (4.7% compared to 6.9%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (0.5% compared to 2.3%)
