Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in City of Wanneroo in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (10,517 males or 19.4%)
  • Mining (5,478 males or 10.1%)
  • Retail Trade (4,371 males or 8.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 20,366 males in total or 37.7% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Greater Perth employed 14.3% in Construction; 9.9% in Mining; and 7.2% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of the City of Wanneroo and Greater Perth were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in construction (19.4% compared to 14.3%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in professional, scientific and technical services (5.8% compared to 8.6%)
