Dominant groups
Analysis of the five year age groups for low income households in Tweed Shire Council in 2021 compared to Regional NSW, shows that there was a similar proportion of people in low income households in the younger age groups (under 15) and a higher proportion in the older age groups (65+).
Overall, 13.5% of people in low income households were aged between 0 and 15, and 49.8% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 16.7% and 43.5% respectively for Regional NSW.
