Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in City of Townsville in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (11,862 people or 25.2%)
- Community and Personal Service Workers (9,578 people or 20.4%)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (9,369 people or 19.9%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 30,809 people in total or 65.6% of the employed resident population.
In comparison, City of Townsville - Total population employed 19.7% in Professionals; 16.1% in Community and Personal Service Workers; and 12.3% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.
The major differences between the jobs held by females in the City of Townsville and City of Townsville - Total population were:
- A larger percentage of females employed as Clerical and Administrative Workers (19.9% compared to 12.3%)
- A larger percentage of females employed as Professionals (25.2% compared to 19.7%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (4.4% compared to 14.6%)
