Analysis of the share of the population attending educational institutions in Division 4 in 2021 compared to the City of Townsville shows that there was a higher proportion attending primary school, a similar proportion attending secondary school, and a lower proportion engaged in tertiary level education.
Overall, 9.7% of the population were attending primary school, 7.3% of the population were attending secondary institutions, and 4.6% were learning at a tertiary level, compared with 8.4%, 6.9% and 6.8% respectively for the City of Townsville.
The major differences between the share of the population attending learning institutions in Division 4 and the City of Townsville were:
