In 2021, there were 1,593 people who caught public transport to work (train, bus, tram or ferry) in Glenorchy City, compared with 16,893 who drove in private vehicles (car – as driver, car – as passenger, motorbike, or truck).
Analysis of the method of travel to work of the residents in Glenorchy City in 2021, compared to George Town Council area, shows that 6.7% used public transport, while 70.1% used a private vehicle, compared with 0.5% and 74.1% respectively in George Town Council area.
The major differences in persons between the method of travel to work of Glenorchy City and George Town Council area were:
