Analysis of the household/family types in Huon Valley Council area in 2021 compared to Central Coast Council area shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 24.8% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 9.8% were one-parent families, compared with 23.0% and 10.4% respectively for Central Coast Council area.
There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a similar proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 24.4% compared to 28.1% in Central Coast Council area while the proportion of couples without children was 31.8% compared to 31.4% in Central Coast Council area.
