Analysis of the qualifications of the population in CBD and Harbour Village Area in 2021 compared to the City of Sydney shows that there was a higher proportion of people holding formal qualifications (Bachelor or higher degree; Advanced Diploma or Diploma; or Vocational qualifications), and a lower proportion of people with no formal qualifications.
Overall, 72.3% of the population aged 15 and over held educational qualifications, and 17.4% had no qualifications, compared with 69.9% and 20.5% respectively for the City of Sydney.
The major differences between qualifications held by the population of CBD and Harbour Village Area and the City of Sydney were:
- A larger percentage of persons with Bachelor or Higher degrees (56.4% compared to 52.6%)
- A smaller percentage of persons with No qualifications (17.4% compared to 20.5%)
- A smaller percentage of persons with Vocational qualifications (6.0% compared to 7.8%)
Emerging groups
The largest changes in the qualifications of the population in CBD and Harbour Village Area between 2011 and 2021 were in those with:
- Bachelor or Higher degrees (+1,306 persons)
- Advanced Diploma or Diplomas (+187 persons)
