Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Chinatown and CBD South Village Area in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (1,260 females or 25.6%)
  • Community and Personal Service Workers (937 females or 19.0%)
  • Labourers (578 females or 11.7%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 2,775 females in total or 56.3% of the employed female resident population.

In comparison, Pyrmont employed 34.8% in Professionals; 10.9% in Community and Personal Service Workers; and 3.8% in Labourers.
