Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in CBD and Harbour Village Area in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (1,007 people or 20.7%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services (855 people or 17.6%)
  • Accommodation and Food Services (392 people or 8.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 2,254 people in total or 46.4% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Crown and Baptist Streets Village Area employed 21.6% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 10.0% in Financial and Insurance Services; and 6.6% in Accommodation and Food Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of CBD and Harbour Village Area and Crown and Baptist Streets Village Area were:
