Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Chippendale in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (400 females or 19.4%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (245 females or 11.9%)
  • Accommodation and Food Services (232 females or 11.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 877 females in total or 42.6% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Erskineville - Eveleigh employed 19.1% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 14.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 3.5% in Accommodation and Food Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Chippendale and Erskineville - Eveleigh were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in accommodation and food services (11.3% compared to 3.5%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in retail trade (9.9% compared to 7.1%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in information media and telecommunications (2.5% compared to 5.1%)
