Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Engadine in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,212 people or 13.7%)
  • Construction (1,093 people or 12.4%)
  • Education and Training (978 people or 11.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 3,283 people in total or 37.1% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Sutherland Shire employed 12.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 11.3% in Construction; and 10.1% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Engadine and Sutherland Shire were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in health care and social assistance (13.7% compared to 12.5%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed in public administration and safety (7.9% compared to 6.8%)
